Shiny New Stuff on IllestRhyme

It took a bit of time, but the February contest has begun. Starting today, your rep for the month of February is being tracked. You can check your monthly Rep in the Top Lists.

You may have also noticed our menu up top has changed, and we added a "TOOLS" section on the left. We're always trying to make your life easier, and this should help out people with smaller screens and on cell phones.

We also added a User Search feature, since the number of IllestRhyme users is growing. Use it to find another user quickly. As always, if you have questions or notice an issue, email the IllestRhyme team

Congrats to the Contest Winners!

In other news, we liked the contest so much, we're doing it again. The February contest starts today; the user who gains the most Rep in February will win $50. Forget Thursday! We know you wanted Crews now, so we gave them to you. They aren't completely finished but should be working fine. You'll need at least 100 Rep to start a Crew. New Features Galore

You may have noticed some of the new features we've added in the past few days. We added a blog link to the menu bar with our first blog post, outlining our mission. Written rhymes can now include URLs to a beat for the Rhyme. The signup form is now done via Facebook, so that we can make sure we've got the right email address for you. Also, we've finally added Rep for commenting, which we'd been meaning to do all along. A comment on a post will earn you 10 Rep, but make sure it's meaningful. We'll be watching the comments to make sure people are adding useful comments and not commenting just to get Rep. Our next feature is one that people have been asking a lot about: Crews. Check back soon, as Crews should be ready by Thursday. As always, if you notice any issues email the IllestRhyme team

How To Write A Rap Section Added

You may have noticed the "How to Write a Rap" section and checked it out. This is meant for members that are writing their very first rap and need some guidance. It's not meant for members who have been spittin the illest rhymes for years. If you have any suggestions for the "How To" section, post it in the forums. Beat Drops Added

Get 10 Rep for each Beat Drop you submit.

As soon as we added AudioDrops, people started asking about beats. We got love for producers, too! Beat Drops can now be added via a separate button on the Audio Drops page. And there's an option to allow other users to use your beat on a track they record (or not). If you added a Beat in the Audio Drop section, please add it to the Beat Drop section (and you'll get an extra 10 Rep for doing so!). Like Audio Drops, just enter the url for your drop and we do the rest. As always, if you notice any issues, email the IllestRhyme team

Win $50. Be The User With The Most Rep by Jan 31!

The IllestRhyme team wants to give back to members who contribute most often to the site. To show our thanks, the user with the most Rep by midnight, January 31st will get $50 however they want it (PayPal, check, cash in a brow-fluidn paper bag, whatever).
